I hope I am not seeing a new trend here with moronic talkradio hosts bashing kids with autism, but after two particularly moronic hosts, Michael Savage & Mike McConnell, opened their useless pie holes this past week, I have worries of a trend.
First we have Mike McConnell of 700WLW in Cincinnati saying that we need to teach our kids manners and remove them when they act a little autistic… Seriously? WTFuck? What is wrong with people these days? I am sooooo sorry that my autistic child acting “all autistic” is uncomfortable for you and all, and perhaps he’s making your dining experience all shitty and everything, but I live with it 24/7. PLUS there is something called the Americans with Disabilities Act. I can take my child where ever the fuck I please.
What is our solution Mr. McConnell? Should we gather up all the autistic children and put them in some kind of camp to keep them away from society… hmmm.. but gee what would we do with all of them then…. maybe we could put them in some kind of oven and just “take care of them”. Wait… this sounds familiar…..
THEN we have ignorant reject du jour, Michael Savage, saying that 99% of autism is nothing more than fatherless bratty kids with inept parents who don’t know when to tell their kids to “cut the shit” as we say around these parts. And please, take the time to ACT on Michael Savage by contacting his broadcasters and sponsors and for therapuetic purposes his email address is there too 
–oh and he also rags on minority kids with Asthma, there is something for everyone!

1st off, if you listen to the podcast you would hear what he really said. All he said was that if children act up in public they should be removed, and this includes autistic children. He is 100% correct, if children are disrupted, it is not my duty to put up with there disruption. What ever happen to the common good, it has been lost on this “I am important”, screw everyone else.
The majority of parents of autistic children demaind that the children get the same rights and treatment of as other children, yet in the situtation, they want special treatment.
Honestly, WTF is wrong with you, manners matter, and so does the public good, which is something that you are forgetting.
It was once said that ‘you play the hand dealt to you as best you can’, yet people like you are pissed if others don’t want to play or watch you hand, grow up and get over it.

My sons behavior in public is because of his disability. If he has a seizure in public should I drag him out of view of others b/c it’s ruining their dinner? Should I follow AMA guidelines or guidlines from some radio DJ?
What about kids in wheelchairs who block your way, should they be removed too?

I never said anything about wheelchairs, the original topic that has been bastardized by people like you is that if the children are disruptive, remove them. The AMA guidelines do not call for then to act up in public. The whole missed point is expectations, and tolerance, set exceptions and the child must follow, no exceptions, and before you claim it doesn’t work, there are many experts in the Field that say that parents are not setting high enough expect ions for there children, special the ones with autism, and because they have autism, they use it as a crutch to act as they want, since they are not taught boundaries.
I know this works, as i have setup boundaries and rules that my children have to follow, and they do, and yes one of my sons has issues, (he was starved of o2 at birth by the hospital staff) and has brain damage, we were told that he can not control him self, and that we would just have to deal with it, another doctor told us to use the same expect ions as we would for others, and we did. Many of his teachers and school staff saw the difference, that when they set expectations, and he was made to follow the rules, he preformed, when he had a teach that didn’t believe that he should follow the same rules because of his issue, he did worst in the class, acting up and causing issues. It not only works for us, but many others have had the same results.
I ‘did’ listen to McConnell’s Podcast. As a matter of fact I listened to ALOT of his ‘podcasts’. And there were Two on Autism.
On the second one, he ‘addressed(if you can ‘call it that’)’ his ‘first’ podcast on autism. And instead of apologizing for what he knew was wrong, he PROCEEDED to ATTACK the Parents of children with autism calling them WHACKED and wanting everything to be THEIR WAY.
(never mind that I am at the school continuelly telling them that my CHILDREN ARE AS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR BEHAVIOR AS ANY OTHER STUDENT! Never mind that I back up the teachers of the students, and the aides 110 % – “According to MCCONNELL …………I WANT IT ALL “MY” WAY”)
First of all, I do have Aspergers. I won’t repeat the FOUL WORD that that BIGOT called me when he found that out.
McConnell’s supervisors will do nothing AGAINST McConnell. As a matter of fact, they didn’t even have the decency to REPLY to my EMAIL (never mind that UNLIKE MCCONNELL – I only attacked the PODCAST – and said NO FOUL WORDS)
{I will say that since BLAMING THE VICTIMS of HIS CRIMES is his ‘biggest’ defense, this man BEARS WATCHING!}
On Savage, I complained then too. THe ASA published “TALK RADIO’S” response. THey ‘admitted’ that they got 1000’s of complaints calling for Savage’s OUSTER. THeir response? They are calling for more AWARENESS on AUTISM, and they will not OUT Savage NOR CALL HIM TO TASK for his BLATENT defiance of the ADA and the CIVIL RIGHTS ACT against the AUTISTIC COMMUNITY.
And for the record, in response to both MCCONNELL AND SAVAGE. My children and I (inspite of having ASPERGERS) are NOT collecting ANY MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT. ALL we wish to do is to live our lives in peace instead of being blamed for someone else’s IGNORANCE and BIGOTRY.
I am NOT asking for COMPASSION.
I AM DEMANDING JUSTICE!
WHen I and my children are completely ACCOUNTABLE for OUR ACTIONS AND BEHAVIOUR, it is WRONG that neither McConnell or Savage (who’s best pic is in a KKK OUTFIT) ARE being held accountable for their BLATENT ATTACKS on the AUTISTIC COMMUNITY.
We can not afford to dismiss either McConnell or Savage. THe fact is in the 1930’s a similar BIGOT was dismissed, and look where that got the JEWS OF GERMANY!
